International IT solutions and managed services provider (MSP) Logicalis has agreed to purchase Inforsacom, an IT services and solutions provider based in Germany.

According to a statement released by South African-based information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Datatec, Logicalis’ parent company, Inforsacom has an annual turnover of approximately $140 million and currently employs 160 people.

Inforsacom provides database, storage and back-up solutions and services with operations in the major economic centers of Germany, and works with major players in the tech industry including Oracle (ORCL), EMC (EMC), IBM (IBM), HP (HPQ), HDS (HDS) and Symantec (SYMC).

New York-based Logicalis said the acquisition will help expand its presence in the German IT market and provide the company with the necessary business to scale its operations in Germany.

“Logicalis’ acquisition of Inforsacom provides the perfect opportunity to complement and build on our offering in Europe,” said Mark Rogers, president and COO of Logicalis Group, in a prepared statement. “Storage and database are two segments that are showing rapid growth in Germany, and we view this acquisition as the best move towards broadening our IT solutions and services portfolio and position us as a significant player in the German IT market.”

The acquisition is subject to the approval by the German Competition Authorities and the South African Reserve Bank. The deal is expected to be finalized in January 2015.
