RingCentral to Acquire Glip

PRESS RELEASE – BELMONT, Calif. – June 18, 2015 – RingCentral, Inc. (NYSE: RNG), a leading provider of cloud communication solutions, today announced it has acquired Glip, Inc., a cloud messaging and collaboration company.  Glip serves diverse teams and helps them be more productive with messaging integrated with task management, calendar, notes, and file sharing. It also includes integrations with a number of leading business solutions such as Box, Dropbox, Evernote, Google, Asana, Jira and many others.  

“RingCentral has been a leader in business voice communications, and over time, we added other channels of communication including SMS, conferencing, and video meetings. The addition of Glip’s capabilities with RingCentral extends our industry leadership and adds powerful messaging and collaboration services to our platform,” said Vlad Shmunis, founder and CEO of RingCentral. “We’re excited to welcome the Glip team to RingCentral. Glip will be re-branded as RingCentral Teams in the coming months. Its capabilities will be integrated and available at no additional cost to all RingCentral Office customers. RingCentral plans to keep the current standalone application, renamed as RingCentral Teams, available for web, Windows, Mac, iOS and Android available to all current and future customers.

Glip was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida. Glip customers include IBM, CBS Interactive, The Economist, Harvard University, and many others.

As a result of the acquisition, Peter Pezaris, CEO & Co-founder and the entire R&D team will join RingCentral. Financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
