IT solutions integrator Sirius Computer Solutions has acquired Brightlight Consulting, a Washington-based business intelligence consulting firm. The acquisition is expected to allow Sirius to expand its Business Analytics Solutions and Services practice. The terms of the acquisition were not released.
Brightlight is a 9-year-old company with a foundation in the big data and business analytics landscape, including data warehousing, data transformation, analytics and cloud, according to the press release. The companies have worked together for the past three years on a number of joint projects, and the acquisition is expected to grow Sirius’ stake in the big data market and analytics services for both on-premise and cloud deployments.
“Business analytics is a key growth area in the IT market,” said Joe Mertens, president and CEO of Sirius, in a statement. “Brightlight is a leader in business intelligence and data warehousing, and their team of experts is committed to their clients’ success. We have a similar company culture, and it made sense to make them part of our family.”
The Brightlight team will be immediately integrated into the Sirius Software Consulting Services team once the acquisition is closed and will operate as Brightlight Business Analytics – A Division of Sirius Computer Solutions, according to the company.
“We have had tremendous success as a major player in business intelligence and data warehousing, however our organic growth model could not keep pace with our opportunities,” said Mark Kettering, president and CEO of Brightlight. “By joining Sirius, we are able to extend more robust consulting capabilities to our clients, as well as broaden the number of clients we can help, which gives us the scalability to make a difference to more enterprises both large and small.”
