The value-added resellers and IT services providers are considering coming together into a channel giant, according to a new published report.
Value-added resellers and IT services providers Sirius Computer Solutions and Forsythe Technology are considering coming together into a channel giant, according to an article in CRN, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the negotiations.
Sirius, the No. 1 company on the 2017 MSPmentor Worldwide Company Rankings of top MSPs, is said to be in talks to purchase Forsythe, the No. 5 company on this year’s list.
A merger of San Antonio, Texas-based Sirius with Forsythe, of Skokie, Ill., would create a $3.2 billion company with 3,000 employees, CRN reported.
“One source with ties to the investment banking community told CRN in June that Forsythe has hired an investment bank and is actively shopping the company,” the articlesaid.
Both companies declined to comment or did not immediately respond to messages from the technology publication.
Sirius is IBM’s largest U.S.-based VAR that works with large- and medium-sized businesses, CRN said.
Sirius also partners with VMware, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intel, Cisco, Microsoft, Trend Micro and Amazon Web Services.
The more security-focused Forsythe also partners with IBM, along with Dell, VMware, HPE, Symantec, Cisco, Citrix and NetApp.
Forsythe has been continuously profitable for 46 years, CRN reported.
