Subex Azure Ltd., which provides revenue maximization platforms for telecom operators, said Thursday it will acquire Canadian-based OSS provider Syndesis Ltd. for $164.5 million in cash.

This is the second large acquisition for the company in less than a year as Subex Systems Ltd. and Azure Solutions Ltd. came together in a $140 million merger last spring.

Once the deal is complete, which is expected to be by March 31, Subex Azure will reorganize itself into three business units. Subex Azure, excluding business from British Telecom, will form the Revenue Mazimization Solutions division; Syndesis will be the Fulfillment and Assurance Solutions arm; and current Subex Azure business from British Telecom will form the BT Business unit.

They all will operate independently, with their own plans, account managers domain experts and support specialists, Subex Azure said.
