Palo Alto Networks Acquiring Talon Cyber Security in Reported $625 Million Deal
The deal follows Palo Alto Networks' acquisition of Dig Security.
Palo Alto Networks is following up its acquisition of Dig Security with another Israel-based startup, Talon Cyber Security.
According to TechCrunch, citing multiple sources, the deal is worth $625 million. Palo Alto Networks isn't confirming that.
Last week, Palo Alto Networks confirmed it is acquiring Dig Security, an Israel-based security startup that offers data security posture management (DSPM). Also according to TechCrunch, Palo Alto Networks is shelling out between $300 million and $400 million for Dig Security.
Talon Cyber Security provides enterprise browser technology. Founded by entrepreneurs Ofer Ben-Noon and Ohad Bobrov, it won the RSA Conference's Innovation Sandbox contest in 2022. The co-founders will continue leading their teams when they join the Prisma secure access service edge (SASE) team at Palo Alto Networks after closing.
Lee Klarich, Palo Alto Networks' chief product officer, said the average enterprise uses hundreds of SaaS and web applications, meaning that most work is now done primarily via the browser.

"Talon enables organizations to secure all work activity via an enterprise browser, without touching the personal usage of the device or impacting user privacy," he said. "Integrating Talon with Prisma SASE will enable Palo Alto Networks to securely connect all users and devices to all applications, including private applications, and apply consistent security no matter who the user is and what device they use for work. Today's announcement underscores our continued belief in the strength of the Israeli cybersecurity ecosystem and our commitment to our growing team in Israel."
Palo Alto Networks partners are critical and will continue to be critical in extending the reach of its Prisma SASE solution, helping customers be successful in deploying its platform.
Talon Cyber Security Will Extend Palo Alto Networks' SASE
In a blog, Anand Oswal, Palo Alto Networks' senior vice president and general manager, wrote that once his company integrates Talon Cyber Security's Enterprise Browser with Prisma SASE, after closing the acquisition, customers will be able to "apply best-in-class security to all users and get unprecedented visibility into all devices connecting to business applications."
Ben-Noon said the proliferation of distributed work models has created a dynamic threat landscape that legacy solutions are ill-equipped to handle.

"We built Talon to bring powerful last-mile security to organizations, addressing the significant customer needs for secure access across all devices while catering to emerging customer and user preferences for browser-based productivity," he said. "Talon's Enterprise Browser is purpose-built to deliver seamless, familiar user experiences on top of enterprise-grade protection that goes hand-in-hand with the great security that Prisma SASE offers today. Not only is Palo Alto Networks the ideal partner for us to accelerate our journey, but their commitment to innovation in Israel is inspiring and an excellent match for Talon's mission of creating the best outcomes possible for customers and our employees."
