Which enterprise mobility management (EMM) software news stories does every managed service provider (MSP) need to know about? Here's a closer look at seven of the biggest EMM software stories of 2015 (so far).
A Sept. 2015 Ovum forecast indicated that the EMM software market could expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.5 percent between 2014 and 2019 and be worth nearly $10 billion by 2019. Ovum also predicted North America will maintain the biggest share (39 percent) of the EMM software market by 2019.
MobileIron (MOBL) in May announced a partnership with connection lifecycle management software provider Tangoe (TNGO) to offer customers a central location to purchase all of their mobility managed services. Tangoe CEO Al Subbloie said the partnership would help customers to focus on business transformation instead of spending time worrying about maintaining their mobility solutions.
MOBI in February acquired ArchTech Enterprises, a Carmel, Indiana-based professional services firm that specializes in mobile solutions. MOBI also integrated ArchTech's engineering capabilities into its managed mobility service (MMS) to make it easier for enterprises to control their mobile devices.
BlackBerry (BBRY) this month reached an agreement to acquire EMM software provider Good Technology for $425 million. The mobile communications company said it expects the Good acquisition to be completed toward the end of its 2016 fiscal third quarter.
AirWatch in February unveiled AirWatch 8, offering unified access to all enterprise mobile devices and applications on a company's network. The solution was designed to make managing the end user experience and providing updates across devices easier, according to the company.
Good Technology in January unveiled the Good Management Suite, designed "for IT departments to deploy and build on a flexible [EMM] platform for future mobile growth." The Sunnyvale, California-based mobility solutions company said its Good Management Suite provides IT departments with a unified, cloud-based solution that can be configured in minutes.
Kaseya in February released version 9 of its remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform. The release included an EMM component priced at $1 per user per month and available to MSPs either à la carte or as part of the overall Kaseya R9 package.
