AT&T: HP Veer 4G Coming Later This Month

The HP Veer 4G, a tiny smartphone that will run the latest version of webOS software, is coming to AT&T very soon.

AT&T said the smartphone will be available May 15^th and is the available in black and white.

The size of a credit card and no thicker than a deck of a cards, the HP Veer 4G is an exclusive in the United States for AT&T customers, the company said.

The gadget will cost $99.99 with a two-year contract and be available from AT&T at company-owned stores and online.

AT&T said the Veer displays an advanced browser and lighting-fast processor that enriches the web experience. The smartphone comes with Adobe Flash support, 8GB of internal user support and a full keyboard that slides out for texting and email. The Veer also includes such features as a 2.6-inch multitouch display screen with an 18-bit color, 320×400 resolution, Facebook integration and a 5-mexapixel camera with extended depth of field, geotagging and video capture.

HP Veer 4G gives us a high unique and feature-rich smartphone for customers who want something a ‘little’ different.”

AT&T and other large mobile operators continue to roll out additional devices that have more in common with a computer than an old-fashioned telephone.

In the first quarter of 2011, AT&T sold more than 5.5 million smartphones.

The company revealed last month that 46.2 percent of its 68.1 million postpaid subscribers had smartphones at the end of the quarter.  Thats up from 34.7 percent a year earlier.
