The Walt Disney Co. is ending another MVNO attempt.

The company said Thursday it will cease sales of its family-oriented Disney Mobile immediately and support the product until Dec. 31. The offering, which allowed parents to track their children, limit the amount of voice and data used and control expenditures, among other features, used the Sprint Nextel network.

Disney said it would explore different ways to get the features to market, such as possibly partnering with major providers.

Last year Disney also abandoned its ESPN Mobile service after poor results despite a massive advertising campaign. The content used for that service is now being used by Verizon Wireless.
