Good Technology Launches EMM Solution for Windows Devices

Good Technology is capitalizing on the recent launch of Windows 10 by bringing its web app security and enterprise mobility management solutions to Microsoft’s platform.

Microsoft Windows users now have access to Good’s email security and collaboration application via Good Work, as well as the Good Access secure browser for all Microsoft devices running Windows 8.1 and above. The company announced the news during last week’s 2015 Good Exchange Cyber Security Summit in London.

Good decided to expand its solutions to the Windows platform to match the increasing diversification of end-point computing platforms among enterprise customers, said Christy Wyatt, chairman and CEO at Good Technology. The availability of Good Access and Good Work on Microsoft devices is also important due to the increasing need for easily deployable system management and corporate data access for workers using their own devices in the field.

With its EMM solutions, administrators can deploy secure collaboration apps to protect corporate data without the need to deploy them via a traditional virtual desktop infrastructure, according to the company.

“Good is enabling the next generation of application security and management for a new generation of Windows products, enabling end users to work on any device, at any time with the same level of security and simplicity they experience on their mobile devices today,” said Wyatt, in a statement.

Good Access for Windows also provides a secure environment for the deployment of HTML5 apps, giving users the ability to secure corporate web apps in containers, the company noted, adding the environment will provide a turnkey solution to securely support users with an ecosystem of apps that are protected but cannot be managed by enterprise IT.

Good Access for Windows is available in beta immediately, while Good Work for Windows is expected to be available in beta later this year.

Last month, BlackBerry Limited (BBRY) announced it would acquire Good Technology for $425 million in cash as the company looks bring Good’s app containerization technology to its mobile portfolio.
