Security solutions vendor McAfee (MFE) is integrating McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management (McAfee EMM software) and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) in a move to simplify mobile device management (MDM) and data security. Here are the details.
McAfee said the changes will yield a wide range of enhancements, including enabling the following capabilities:
End-to-end security and compliance visibility from a single, unified infrastructure and console;
Streamlined processes via McAfee ePO platform automation including device tagging,
Automated workflows and actionable drag-and-drop dashboards;
Granular policy-based security including per user, device and operating system options;
Mobile monitoring, alerting, analytics and reporting, including mobile-specific reports and dashboards; and
Enterprise class scalability up to 25,000 devices per server and more than 100,000 devices if using load-balancing.
McAfee Mobile Engineering Senior VP and General Manager Ari Jaaksi said in a statement that more businesses are using mobile technologies to move ahead of their competition, however, many fail to manage those devices properly.
"Every device that’s connected to the Internet or that has access to an organization’s network or database needs to be secured and managed," he added. "McAfee is making it easier for IT departments to see and manage their mobile footprint along with the rest of their infrastructure."
McAfee EMM software provides comprehensive security, policy and management capabilities to mobile devices. The product also includes McAfee Secure Container for Android and McAfee VirusScan Mobile for Google (GOOG) Android software (unmanaged).
McAfee ePO software assists business with the protection of data on company-issued and employee-owned devices from bring your own device (BYOD) through a single, unified infrastructure and console.
