Microsoft CRM Apps to Support Apple, Android Mobile Devices

Microsoft (MSFT) said the next version of its Dynamics CRM, which will be available this coming fall, will provide native support for Apple’s (AAPL) iPad and subsequently will support both Apple and Google (GOOG) Android-based smartphones as well as its own Windows Phone 8-based devices.

The app, which Microsoft will offer online as Dynamics CRM Online Fall '13 and on-premises as Dynamics CRM 2013, will deliver more personal experiences to sales, marketing and customer care professionals, the vendor said. Not only does the new edition support a variety of mobile devices but it also offers enhanced social collaboration capabilities through integration with Microsoft's Yammer, Skype and Lync.

“Customers don’t want to be sold to anymore,” said Bob Stutz, Microsoft Dynamics CRM corporate vice president. “They are knowledgeable and are interacting with their social and professional networks to make their buying decisions. They expect businesses to help them make the most informed choice,” he said.

“Microsoft Dynamics CRM helps people connect with these customers in a way that is personal—giving them the information they need to choose the right solutions, engage to drive sales and nurture relationships to deliver amazing experiences.”

Some of Microsoft Dynamics CRM features include:

  • A connection to MarketingPilot, Microsoft’s marketing automation solution, to help businesses manage products, budgets and resources and execute and monitor marketing campaigns.

  • Users can change business processes, such as sales and service, based on the needs of their customers.

  • A new outcome-driven user interface to helping sales teams move from lead to close faster.

  • New mobile client applications on iPad and Windows 8 tablets and upcoming new touch-optimized mobile experiences for Windows Phone 8, iPhone and Android phones.

  • Collaboration and sharing of customer knowledge through Yammer within the CRM solution.

  • A seamless connection between Lync and Skype for real-time connections.

  • A limited beta of the Netbreeze social monitoring and analytics service available in fall 2013.
