MOBI Acquires ArchTech Enterprises, Adds to Managed Mobility Service
Enterprise mobility management (EMM) software provider MOBI has acquired ArchTech Enterprises, a Carmel, Indiana-based professional services firm that specializes in mobile solutions. MOBI said it also has integrated ArchTech’s engineering capabilities into its managed mobility service (MMS) to make it easier for enterprises to control their mobile devices. Enterprise mobility management (EMM) software provider MOBI has acquired ArchTech Enterprises, a Carmel, Indiana-based professional services firm that specializes in mobile solutions. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
MOBI said it also has integrated ArchTech’s engineering capabilities into its managed mobility service (MMS) to make it easier for enterprises to control their mobile devices.
“By leveraging ArchTech’s technical expertise, our own engineering services team will be even further differentiated as a value-add resource,” MOBI President Mitch Black said in a prepared statement.
So what does MOBI’s acquisition mean for managed service providers (MSPs) and their customers?
Ryan Spence, MOBI’s director of EMM, told MSPmentor that he expects the ArchTech acquisition to provide value for both service providers and their customers: “The impact we are anticipating for MSPs and their customers is a growing conversation helping customers and their service providers understand how to accomplish their needs and develop their technology to answer the questions coming at them.”
Spence added that he believes the EMM market is “still in an early stage of development,” but he said his company will continue to work with partners to ensure they can reap the rewards of its MMS platform.
MOBI offers cloud-based mobile device management (MDM) software for corporate IT systems and wireless carriers, among others, and could reap the rewards of an EMM software market that is expected to grow.
Technology market research firm The Radicati Group has predicted that worldwide EMM revenues will increase from roughly $1.37 billion last year to $5.75 billion in 2018.
