Quantum Needs No Solace: LG Debuts First Windows Phone 7 Device for AT&T

The first in whats anticipated to be a number of Windows Phone 7 offerings from LG, the Quantum is now available from AT&T.

LG is rolling out the first in a series of upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices. The Quantum is now available from AT&T.

The LG Quantum offers:

  • 3.5-inch touchscreen w/800×480 pixel resolution

  • full QWERTY keyboard

  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor

  • 5-megapixel camera w/720p video capture

  • 16GB of storage

  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi

Several manufacturers have jumped on board to develop smartphones for the new Microsoft Windows Phone 7 platform, the follow-up to Windows Mobile, which has seen its market share evaporate since the release of the iPhone and a deluge of Android-based devices. It will remain to be seen if Windows Phone 7 can catch anyones fancy and make Microsoft relevant again in the mobile space.

The Quantum is selling for $199.99 with a new, two-year service agreement.
