Samsung is giving its enterprise mobile users an added boost in security with the addition of Hightail’s file-sharing services.
Hightail (formerly Yousendit) is now available on the Samsung Solutions Exchange and soon will be added to the KNOX Marketplace. The new file-sharing service will allow users to send secure files to coworkers via the cloud with the added ability to add notes to documents with the Samsung S Pen.
The Hightail solution has been Samsung KNOX-certified for security. It includes tracking and control features that allow users to add extra protection, such as passwords, expiration dates and identity confirmation, when sharing documents or folders.
“Security concerns are the most prominent reason for the lack of cloud adoption in the enterprise world,” said Eric van Miltenburg, Hightail’s senior vice president, Business Development, in a statement. “Our membership in the Samsung Solutions Exchange and shortly in the KNOX Marketplace allows us to respond to the demand for secure mobile solutions through our combined capabilities.”
Hightail is also emphasizing the importance its integration with the Samsung S Pen, which will allow users to add notes, signatures and comments to their documents for a more personalized touch. According to the company, the pen will give professionals “a sophisticated new way of providing feedback and working more effectively by the ability to annotate.”
Hightail’s integration with Samsung’s mobile services is the latest in a series of security updates offered by the smartphone giant. Samsung recently improved its enterprise mobile security with the KNOX 2.0 update, which added a secure marketplace, single sign-on, and additional security containers.
In January, Samsung partnered with DMI to bring additional services to Samsung devices, including migration services, MDM implementation and an end user help desk.
