Verizon Preps First 4G Smartphones, Including HTC Thunderbolt

HTC is getting the world ready for its highly anticipated Thunderbolt 4G Android smartphone, which is expected to be among the very first 4G smartphones available on Verizons new wireless LTE network. The manufacturer is said to be planning an announcement at this years Consumer Electronics Show, being held this week in Las Vegas. Expect the Thunderbolt to be one of at least three 4G smartphones unveiled by Verizon Wireless at the show.

While not revealing a ton of information, a new online ad claims the Thunderbolt will offer HD entertainment instantly,” streaming 8 MP photos wirelessly” and video chat anywhere.”

Specs are likely to include:

  • 4.3-inch touchscreen

  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor

  • 8 MP camera w/dual-LED flash

  • 802.11n Wi-Fi

  • 720p video recording

No word yet on a release date, but the website Droid Life claims the Thunderbolts model number is showing up in Verizons inventory.
