Verizon's HTC Incredible 2, Samsung Charge Release Dates Leaked

Someone got their hands on Verizon Wireless smartphone-release plans for the next couple of months, and there appear to be plenty of options for fanboys and the casual consumer alike. The biggest news here is that most are compatible with Verizons 4G LTE network. The website Phandroid published the roadmap Wednesday.

Among the highlights is the new Samsung Droid Charge, a 4G Android smartphone previously known online as the Stealth. It runs on Android 2.2, has 1GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display and an 8-megapixel camera. The leaked plans reveal that its set to hit the market on April 7. Also of note is the HTC Incredible 2, the follow-up to the original Incredible, one of the most successful early Android releases. Not too much is known just yet about functionality. The Incredible 2 is supposedly available April 28, but is reportedly not an LTE phone.

Other upcoming releases include the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play handset (April 14) geared toward gamers who can use it side-by-side with the Sony Playstation; and the HTC Trophy (April 15), a Windows 7 global smartphone. If you wont settle for anything less than 4G, look for the Motorola Droid X 2, the LG Revolution, the Motorola Bionic and the Samsung Galaxy 2, all coming in May.

Verizon has been criticized for its slow rollout of 4G-enabled devices since rolling out its LTE network in some areas late last year. But the carrier seems to be making up for it this spring with a flurry of new releases. And with early rave reviews of the HTC ThunderBolt, described by some as the speediest phone out there, the public is likely to be forgiving.

Keep in mind that Verizon Wireless hasnt made any official announcements about the release dates for these smartphones.
