Trend Micro has launched Trend Micro One, a unified cybersecurity platform with a growing ecosystem of technology partners. This allows customers to better understand, communicate and lower their cyber risk.

The unified cybersecurity platform approach delivers a continuous life cycle of risk and threat assessment. It provides attack surface discovery, cyber risk analysis, and threat mitigation and response. An ecosystem of native and third-party integrations provides visibility and control across the entire attack surface.

Inaugural Trend Micro One partners include Bit Discovery, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, ServiceNow, Slack, Qualys, Rapid7, Splunk and Tenable.

Benefits of Consolidation

Wendy Moore is Trend Micro’s vice president of product marketing.

Moore-Wendy_Trend-Micro.jpg“We are seeing increasing market recognition of not only the operational benefits, but more importantly, the security benefits that come from consolidating vendors/solutions,” she said. “As organizations and security teams struggle to manage the increasing complexity introduced by digital transformation, data privacy, compliance and more, the need for adoption of a consolidated platform approach, which includes ecosystem integration, has never been more acute.”

Here’s our most recent list of important channel-program changes you should know.

Point security products are limited in their ability and scope, Moore said. Trend Micro One streamlines security operations.

“The fact that Trend Micro One covers a broad scope offers selling partners the opportunity to cover multiple customer needs with Trend,” she said. “We also add value and are unique in how Trend Micro One supports the full attack surface risk management life cycle. The benefit of the platform comes from how each component can work together to serve the ‘see-assess-mitigate’ value proposition. We are leveraging the platform to give customers a comprehensive understanding of their cyber risk posture across security layers so they can make informed decisions and communicate the impact.”

Increasing Attack Surface

The attack surface unsurprisingly is increasing, Moore said.

“Each possible entry point into an organization is an opportunity for an attacker,” she said. “Research has shown that as an attack surface increases, so do the number of security incidents. Combine this increasingly complex attack surface with the realities of alert fatigue from using siloed solutions, the skills gap, growing compliance pressures and more, and CISOs and their security teams are challenged in their ability to effectively manage the business risk of cyber threats.”

A single solution can’t fully see, accurately assess and effective mitigate cyber risk across the enterprise, Moore said. In addition, pairing independent solutions isn’t effective.

A consolidated platform approach for more holistic security has never been more critical, she said.

“That is why we are focusing on building out the integrations between the Trend Micro One platform and third-party solutions,” Moore said.

Trend Micro is also putting a lot of emphasis on its ecosystem strategy, she said.

Digital Transformation Brings Additional Risks

Trend Micro One includes external attack surface visibility powered by Bit Discovery. Jeremiah Grossman is Bit Discovery‘s CEO.

“We all know that digital transformation is table stakes for the post-pandemic enterprise,” he said. “But this comes with additional risks. [That includes] a bigger target for threat actors to aim at, and more visibility and security coverage gaps for them to hide in. Trend Micro’s approach stands out from the crowd — notably with its blend of multiple sources of asset and risk visibility.”
