8x8 Adds Birdeye, RingCentral Vet as Chief Customer Officer
8x8's latest hire has an extensive history in the channel.
8×8 has hired Walt Weisner, previously with Birdeye, Mavenlink and Verizon’s BlueJeans, as its chief customer officer.
Weisner will be responsible for the end-to-end experience of 8×8’s global customers. He will oversee professional services, implementation, and customer support and enablement.

The chief customer officer will report to 8×8 CEO Dave Sipes.
“Providing a great customer experience is top priority for high-growth SaaS companies, especially in the dynamic cloud contact center and communications market,” Weisner said. “I am looking forward to taking 8×8’s global customer care organization to the next level at this key juncture in the market.”
Weisner has an extensive history in the channel. Prior to 8×8, he held senior management positions at cloud and SaaS companies, including BlueJeans Network by Verizon, RingCentral and WebEx. He most recently was chief customer officer at Birdeye.

Weisner will play a pivotal role in ensuring customers successfully achieve their communications, collaboration and engagement goals, Sipes said. He’ll do so using the 8×8 integrated cloud contact center and employee cloud communications product.
Last week, 8×8 announced a new partnership with international distributor Westcon will allow the cloud communications provider to expand its reach. The team-up starts initially in the United Kingdom and Ireland this month. It will provide Westcon’s partners with a UCaaS and CCaaS public cloud solution via a wholesale model.
