Astrocom, a provider of WAN Optimization Controllers specializing in WAN and ISP link aggregation, load balancing, failover and network security for SMBs, announced it has changed its name to Ecessa. Along with the new company name, Ecessa appointed Marc Goodman as its new marketing director to lead all corporate and product marketing efforts.

“Ecessa” comes from the word “necessary,” which incorporates the key concept of the necessary technology for reliable and fast WAN infrastructure vital for business continuity, explained the company.

“As we move forward and continue to broaden the scope of our products and services, we recognize the need to present our family of products in a more clear and concise manner,” said Ron Thomas, president and CEO of Ecessa. “With this in mind, we have chosen to adopt a new name for our company, that more accurately represents the reliability, availability, security, control and intelligence our products provide. As we expand further into the global marketplace, the name Ecessa will carry our company into new geographical regions and ever-broadening applications.”

The company’s new marketing director, Marc Goodman, brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Ecessa.

“Marc’s background and understanding of our market will be a great asset to Ecessa as we move forward in strengthening our position in the marketplace,” said Thomas. “His successful track record and experience in managing global marketing organizations brings a significant capability to Ecessa.”
