Tracy Balent is the new senior director of channel sales, Americas, at Melville, N.Y.-based FalconStor Software, a provider of disk-based data protection.

Balent, who recently was VP of global channel strategy and marketing at CA Technologies, will overseeing FalconStors national resellers in the Americas, with the goal of driving collaboration and executing joint business plans across the partner community. She has more than 20 years of IT industry experience and has served in numerous leadership roles, managing all aspects of channel sales and marketing, the company said.

FalconStor has promoted Pramila Nair to the position of country manager, Canada. Nair most recently served the company as territory manager. In that position she strengthened Canadian partnerships and developed and executed channel and customer marketing plans. She has more than 15 years of experience in channel sales in North America, the Middle East and Asia.

FalconStor says both appointments come as the company focuses on delivering disruptive products that give partners and customers world-class, cost-effective data protection and disaster-recovery capabilities.

FalconStor works closely with channel partners to deliver reliable service-oriented data protection technologies, and our channel team is critical to supporting those efforts,” said Gary Quinn, vice president of North American sales and marketing at FalconStor. These appointments deepen the teams experience, capability and dedication. Both Tracy and Pramila are well known and respected in the partner and channel community, and theyll be great assets to FalconStor as we redefine traditional thinking about data replication, deduplication and recovery.”
