Datto, the data-protection provider, has added two members to its leadership team as it looks to expand globally.
The company promoted Emily Glass from vice president of customer experience to chief customer experience officer and hired Loïc Vienne as chief information officer. Vienne is the first CIO in Datto’s history.
Vienne told Channel Partners that Datto created the position out of a desire to grow organically through a strong internal platform.
“I think we realize now that having a strong internal system is going to help us scale in the future, but is also going to help us further improve our relationship with our partners,” he said.
He said that his short-term goal, as far as it impacts Datto partners, will be to improve their experiences with company — especially in ordering, quoting and billing cycles.{ad}
“Over the longer term, my function is to benefit them around various support with us having a simpler process and data to interact with them so that it’s easier for us to do business with the MSPs,” he said.
Vienne spent the last five years at Weight Watchers as vice president of enterprise systems. He also was director of CRM applications at Pitney Bowes.
Emily Glass’ role as chief experience officer includes the oversight of manufacturing, customer engagement, training and support. Datto says she “built the company’s partner experience into the competitive asset it is today” in her previous position as vice president of customer experience.
“An exceptional partner experience is a critical differentiator for us,” Glass said. “As Datto reaches a tipping point for scaling and optimizing processes, we’re looking to further enhance customer support by being proactive and anticipating the needs of our partners. As part of the executive team, my priority is to deliver every customer an amazing end-to-end experience.”
Datto has been talking a lot about global expansion in 2016. The company spoke to Channel Partners about how it hopes to expand in Europe and other continents.
“Loïc and Emily are standout executives who understand the commitment it takes for us to sustain our most important relationship — our customers,” Datto CEO and founder Austin McChord said. “At the same time, our growth as a company requires their leadership and experience, as we continue to expand on all fronts globally.”
