Mike Jerich, the former channel chief for Level 3 Communications, has been named chief commercial officer for IntelePeer Inc., a provider of on-demand, cloud-based communications, the company announced Tuesday.
In late May, Jerich is left his post as vice president of indirect channels for Level 3. He had held the top channel job at the carrier for more than a year-and-a-half, following the carrier’s merger with Global Crossing, where Jerich served as vice president of channel sales. Earlier in his career, he held senior sales roles at various companies, including Level 3, NTT/Verio, Qwest and Ingram Micro.
In this newly created role, Jerich will focus on company-wide sales and business development organizations, including enterprise and service-provider sales, sales engineering and post-sales support. Jerich also will have responsibility for the indirect channel, which he told Channel Partners is one of the reasons he was brought into the company. He declined to elaborate on his plans given that he’s been on the job for a week, but said, “We will be channel-friendly.”
“Mike’s in-depth industry experience will be invaluable as he leads our sales teams, and helps us accelerate through our next stage of growth,” said Frank Fawzi, IntelePeer chairman and CEO, in a press statement.
IntelePeer offers cloud-based communications to enterprises and service providers. Its mission is to deliver communications across devices, networks and geographies. Uniquely, it offers the Fluent Federation-as-a-Service platform for service providers and contact centers to connect and leverage the reach of Intelepeer’s platform.
IntelePeer’s CloudWorx platform combines a SuperRegistry database and intelligent routing solution, a Media Peering Grid service and an AppWorx development environment.
