Chad Arnold, previously Level 3 Communications’ national channel sales manager, has joined Intelisys, the master agent and tech-services distributor, as its new director of partner sales for the Northwest and Mountain regions.
Arnold has worked in telecommunications and channel sales for more than 10 years. He’s based in Seattle. While at Level 3, he helped Intelisys become Level 3’s No. 1 sales-producing partner.
In his new role, Arnold will manage sales partners in Washington, Oregon, and northern California, and will indirectly manage sales partners in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. He will spend his time building relationships with – and recruiting – new telecom agents, VARs, MSPs and IT service providers. In addition, Arnold will support existing sales partners in the region to help them grow their businesses and achieve their goals.
Arnold’s resume includes sales and leadership positions at Eschelon Telecom and tw telecom, which was acquired by Level 3 last fall.
The move is the latest in a flurry of personnel moves by Intelisys, drawing top channel staff away from carriers. Late last fall, Intelisys hired Mark Phaneuf away from XO Communications to oversee partner support and recruitment in the Northeast, while Eddie Acosta joined the company from Windstream, hired to perform a similar role in the south central states.
Earlier this month, Intelisys announced a new certification program through its Cloud Services University. The program aims to help channel partners embrace the cloud. The company, a traditional master agent, has been actively increasing its level of expertise in IT services.
