Longtime Dell vet Driss El Ougmani has been appointed to lead the tech giant’s global channel, alliances and OEM specialty sales team.

Ougmani replaces Scott Millard, who vacated the head of global channel and specialty sales role last month to become Dell‘s senior vice president of enterprise sales.

“I’m excited to bring my extensive leadership experience in sales and in our partner ecosystem to this new opportunity in global specialty sales,” Ougmani said. “This is another great example of Dell Technologies’ commitment to driving growth and transformation across the business with our partners.”

Ougmani has been with Dell for 18 years. He was most recently vice president of the ISG data center presales channel team for EMEA. He also has extensive core sales leadership experience in enterprise and emerging markets.

Leading Dell’s Business

In his most recent role, Ougmani led Dell’s business, with a focus on accelerating revenue growth and market share, across 63 countries. He actively engaged with regional general managers to drive annual profit and loss performance.

“This move is another example of our commitment to drive strategic growth through the promotion of leaders with expertise across core, specialty, services and channel sales,” Dell said.

The Dell vet is fluent in Arabic, English, French and German. During his career at Dell, he has lived and worked in Morocco, Germany, Ireland, France, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, where he now lives.

2021 Partner Program

Last month, Dell rolled out its 2021 Partner Program with several updates.

With the new partner program, Dell has focused on three key areas based on partner feedback:

  • More opportunity for new customer and line-of-business acquisition.

  • Accelerated growth and profit potential with increased access to VMware.

  • A more streamlined and personalized end-to-end experience.

Dell’s full-year revenue was a record $94.2 billion, up 2% over the previous year. The company also generated record operating income of $5.1 billion, a 96% increase over the prior year, and non-GAAP operating income of $10.8 billion, up 6%.

Dell’s channel is worth $52 billion in orders, and is now more than half the company’s revenue.
