San Diego-based Nextivity, which just last month announced a formal channel program, has named Jim Berridge as its vice president of sales for North America.

Berridge will be responsible for channel sales activity in the U.S. and Canada for Nextivity’s Cel-Fi smart signal boosters. Based in Atlanta, Berridge heads a growing team specifically focused on serving the needs of AT&T, one of 146 carriers in 74 countries that have authorized Cel-Fi for use on their network.

“Jim’s leadership skills and extensive distribution experience are invaluable assets as we expand our major account marketing and field support activities for AT&T,” said Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “He is building a team with a stellar track record working with large distributors and OEMs, enabling us to target growth opportunities for Cel-Fi among our key customers.”

Berridge has more than 25 years of leadership experience in mobile sales and distribution. Before joining Nextivity, he was senior vice president of sales for Personal Communications Devices (PCD), where he was responsible for the AT&T Mobility account, and expanding the company’s product portfolio.

Before PCD, Berridge held a number of leadership roles, including VP of sales and marketing for Pantech; VP of business development for GoTV Networks; and a variety of sales, marketing and business development roles at Nokia.

Nextivity is looking for VARs and integrators to add to its channel program.
