Ooma Appoints 8x8, CenturyLink Vet as Head of Channel Sales

Communication service provider Ooma has named Kathy Mazza head of channel sales. She will be responsible for channel programs and the resellers, VARs and white-label providers across Ooma’s full line of business products and services. These include Ooma Office for small and midsize businesses, Ooma Enterprise for larger organizations and Ooma AirDial for POTS replacement.

Mazza comes to Ooma from 8×8. There she was vice president of strategic channels and recruited, developed and managed the global channel team for direct agency and distribution partnerships. She also negotiated MSA agreements for all global partners. In addition to 8×8, Mazza held channel sales management roles at Covad and CenturyLink.

In 2019, Intelisys recognized Mazza as national channel manager of the year.

Rob Ferrer, vice president of business sales at Ooma, says Mazza had the skills and experience to energize partners.

“Kathy is already well known in the channel and having her join Ooma is further proof that we’re committed to offering the category’s most rewarding channel program,” said Ferrer.

The new head of channel sales said she is eager to a build a richer channel program for Ooma’s current and future partners.

“I chose to join Ooma because I see a huge opportunity for channel partners to benefit from all the company has to offer, combined with a strong commitment from leadership to channel growth and acceleration,” said Mazza.

She added that it was all about finding the “yes” to solve problems for customers and partners.

“We ask partners to bring their customer cases to us so we can find solutions to those problems,” Mazza said. “Customers will find Ooma is nimble. We come up with unique opportunities. Also, Ooma has a structured channel team and I’ll only be accelerating that.”
