PRESS RELEASE — LOS ANGELES – January 28, 2016 – Orbitera Inc., the leader in cloud commerce, today bolstered its executive ranks with two key hires who bring extensive experience from Amazon.com, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Rackspace: Matthew Leonard, vice president of product, and Brian Gant, vice president of sales.
“Orbitera has fundamentally changed the way software is bought and sold with its cloud commerce platform,” Marcin Kurc, CEO of Orbitera. “The addition of Matthew and Brian to our team gives us expertise to realize our vision of consumption billing for the enterprise market and continue expanding our footprint with software vendors and channel providers.”
Leonard brings extensive ecommerce experience to Orbitera, having served as senior technical program manager for the Amazon Ecommerce Platform and manager of the Product Management team for Cloud Commerce at Amazon Web Services, where he led development of massively scalable distributed billing systems. Most recently, Leonard was technical product manager for Azure Commerce at Microsoft, where he led efforts for the next generation of Azure cloud services ecommerce capabilities. He is a graduate of the University of Waikato in New Zealand with a major in Management Systems.
“Orbitera is unique in its understanding of billing and commerce for the cloud market,” Leonard said. “I look forward to being able to apply what I’ve learned during my time at Amazon and Microsoft to continue delivering innovative solutions that enterprises, software vendors and resellers require to achieve success in the competitive cloud marketplace.”
Gant will leverage his significant sales experience at Rackspace, where, as director of SaaS services, he launched a partner program focused on reselling third-party software and platforms. Also at Rackspace, he served as director of a sales team focused on the entertainment vertical, including content producers, game studios, content distributors and publishers. Earlier in his career, he was instrumental in growing revenue and adding new logo customers at Limelight Networks, and served as vice president of Sales for Content Markets at Level 3.
