Peak 10 is bringing on a new CTO, citing his knowledge on the delivery and scaling of cloud-based services.
Michael Fuhrman is taking the position after more than a decade and a half at Cisco Systems. He most recently served as vice president of security services and cloud operations.
In a Thursday news release, Peak 10 touted Fuhrman’s track record of helping Cisco transition “from a hardware-based to a software-based delivery model.”
Peak 10 CEO David Jones called the hiring a “calculated decision” designed to help the company achieve its strategic initiatives, which include expansion and an enhanced product portfolio.
“Mike’s track record of growing and delivering cloud and security services, bringing new products and solutions to market, and success with M&A integration will serve Peak 10 well as we take the next steps to grow our company and further improve on our customers’ experience,” Jones said.
Fuhrman spent 10 years as a director of engineering at Cisco, where he was responsible for Cisco’s Intrusion products and cloud-based products in Cisco’s security platforms, according to his LinkedIn profile.
According to Peak 10, Furhman will be responsible for the company’s research and development, product and service strategy and internal IT initiative.
