Predictive-analytics company RapidMiner has named Michael Doane as its new head of channels and alliances in the Americas.

Doane brings more than 20 years of channel experience to the company and will be responsible for spearheading RapidMiner’s partner network. In this role, he will be responsible for growing the company’s network of resellers, distributors and partners. He will be called up on to increase revenue through the management and expansion of RapidMiner’s network of systems integrator and consulting partners, extend RapidMiner’s presence via resellers, further develop the company’s OEM channel, and to manage strategic technology alliances.

“Michael offers vast experience in setting strategic direction for channel and alliance programs in the analytics market and executes efficiently to the benefit of our new and existing partners,” said Ingo Mierswa, co-founder and CEO of RapidMiner. “Advanced analytics is one of the industry’s hottest growth markets, and RapidMiner is a recognized leader in this field. Our partner network is a great way for third parties to capitalize on this, and Michael is a driving force behind this opportunity for our partners.”

For several years, Doane was the director of North American channel sales and the global relationship director for IBM at SPSS, a provider of predictive analytics solutions. At SPSS, Doane was tasked with the design, implementation and launch of the reseller program in North America, where he significantly increased the company’s channel pipeline and sales revenues year over year, until its acquisition by IBM.

“Solving business problems that increase revenues through customer satisfaction and reduce expenses by combating fraud and retaining high-value employees are just a few of the high-value, high-ROI applications perfectly suited for the application of predictive analytics. Expanding RapidMiner’s partner network to include companies focused on delivering these types of solutions is a strategic imperative for us that will deliver value to all stakeholders – clients, partners and RapidMiner,” said Doane.
