Verizon Enterprise Solutions has named Janet Schijns as its new channel chief with the departure of Adam Famularo, who is leaving to head up a software company.

Schijns currently is vice president and chief marketing technologist for Verizon Enterprise Solutions. Famularo has been vice president of global channels since September 2014.

“I was very happy in my current role leading the global channel organization,” Famularo said. “The team is the best in the industry and we have amazing support from the Verizon leadership team. This was a very hard decision. Sometimes it comes down to timing. A great opportunity presented itself and it made sense for me to take it.”

Under Famularo’s leadership, Verizon launched a full resale channel model, built the sales channel in the U.S. public sector, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and developed the channel into the fastest-growing sales engine inside Verizon Enterprise Solutions, according to the company.

She has been with Verizon since November 2010.

“It should not have any impact on current channel-partner members,” Famularo said. “The team and I have invested a lot of energy over the past 18 months to create a program for our channel partner members that is turnkey and efficient. The mechanisms of that program do not change. We have a terrific channel leadership team and Janet will be able to jump right in to carry all of our programs forward.”

Schijns is not yet commenting on the move, but will once the transition is complete.

“Verizon’s channel partners are in good hands,” Fischer said. “Janet is well suited to lead the channel sales group. Her strong background in this arena, proven track record of excellence and close work with the channel sales team will further the strategy and drive expansion of our partner program.”
