Telco Titan Bill Haner Dies

The telecommunications industry is mourning the loss of Bill Haner, who died Oct. 6, after a long illness. He was 56.

Haner sat on several telecommunications governing boards. He was president of ANI Communications, and held senior executive positions at Pacific Gateway Exchange, Arbinet “The Exchange,” Ocen Communications and Worldcom/ IDB.

He is survived by his wife Vickie, two daughters and a son. A “Celebration of life” service will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, in Riverside, Calif. The family suggests donations to honor Bill’s passion of baseball, to “The Field Project” at Riverside Poly High School or Lance Armstrong’s “Livestrong” foundation.
