Douglas McMillan, CEO of Telcom Insight and a 20-year veteran of the telecom industry, died suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 22, of a heart attack. According to associates, he was doing what he loved most, riding his bicycle along the coast in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

A graduate of USC’s Marshall School of Business, McMillan founded or co-founded three successful telecommunication consulting businesses during his career. For the past six years, he served as a member of the advisory board for the Los Angeles-based Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), which inspires young people from low-income to find their paths to success by working with educators in high-need schools to re-engage students in learning, introduce them to business concepts and open up their possibilities for the future.

Memorial contributions can be made to NFTE in his honor.
