Westcon Group on Tuesday named a new CEO.
In January, Dolph Westerbos will take over from Dean Douglas, who is leaving for another opportunity, Westcon said. Douglas stepped in as CEO in June 2008 and helped build the distributor into a company with more than $4 billion in revenue and presence in 60 countries, according to privately held Westcon.
Westerbos has worked in the B2B and channel sectors for more than 20 years at companies including Dell, Brambles and ModusLink. He comes to Westcom from Brambles, which provisions reusable pallets, crates and containers, where he served as group president of Asia Pacific and EMEA. Westerbos helped generate services revenue of $2 billion for Brambles.
At Dell, Westerbos was vice president of solutions and services for EMEA, and he was part of creating Dell’s European channel.
Westerbos holds a Master of Science in management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He will be based at the company’s global headquarters in Tarrytown, NY.
