Wrobel Named NaSPA President

NaSPA, the Networking and Systems Professional Association (NaSPA), which has served the needs of thousands of IT, networking and telecom professionals since 1986, has named Leo A. Wrobel president. Wrobel’s new agenda for the Milwaukee-based non-profit focuses on the challenges faced by millions of threatened employees of high-tech firms.

“When we ask NaSPA’s members these days, they are most concerned about three things: employment, employment and employment,” Wrobel said. “According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of unemployed (11.6 million) and the unemployment rate (7.6 percent) has increased by 4.1 million (2.7 percent) in the last year. Many of these job losses have occurred in the information technology and telecom sectors. These folks could use our help.”

Wrobel said NaSPA will continue to promote the advancement of network and systems professionals, nurturing its members’ technical, managerial and professional careers through the sharing of technical information. NaSPA will continue to improve educational standards and continuing development of ethical standards for practitioners in the industry.
