IndependenceIT Adds Multi-Application RemoteApp Delivery to CWS

IndependenceIT is now offering managed service providers (MSPs) the ability to use existing Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) licensing to deliver single application or application collections, remote desktop application suites or any combination of these use cases to customers.

The integrated workspace automation software provider has unveiled a new version of its Cloud Workspace Suite (CWS) desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) platform that includes multi-application delivery with Microsoft (MSFT) RemoteApp. IndependenceIT announced the general availability of this release at the 2015 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Orlando, Florida.

So what does the new version of CWS offer MSPs? IndependenceIT noted that this release features:

In addition, IndependenceIT pointed out that its new release provides “a blended solution of RemoteApp and Remote Desktop for Cloud Workspace Suite users, optimized deployment for independent software vendors (ISVs) and mobile users and one-click user access directly to the native application interface for an optimized local experience.”

“Cloud Workspace Suite provides Windows RemoteApp users with the same look and feel as local applications, but goes much further,” IndependenceIT CEO Seth Bostock said in a prepared statement. “We have simplified the complexity around app deployment, system compatibility and entitlement controls to fully empower organizations through automation and enhanced workflows.”

IndependenceIT incorporated RemoteApp automated workflow and delivery into CWS in March. The addition of RemoteApp functionality to IndependenceIT’s DaaS platform delivered “a win” for IndependenceIT customers and partners, according to Bostock.

“The promise of remote application delivery has never been fulfilled because of the functional limits and issues with complexity, compatibility and control,” he said in a prepared statement. “For service providers, this opens the doors to greater revenue opportunities while increasing efficiencies in these environments for their customers.”
