Kaseya Launches New Version of VSA RMM at ‘Connect’
VSA 9.3 is billed as a way to increase efficiency, productivity and reduce the amount of required technician training.
Kaseya today disclosed the release of a new version of its remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform for managed service providers (MSPs), which the firm says offers the industry’s best technician experience.
The Kaseya VSA 9.3, announced during opening remarks at Kaseya Connect in Carlsbad, Calif., is designed to improve productivity, provide policy-driven endpoint security and increase scalability and extensibility.
Among the additions to the software are the Live Connect module for improved endpoint visibility, and Intel vPro integration, which enables remote repair of PCs and kiosks, eliminating the need for site visits.
“With these enhancements, which have been developed based on customer feedback, Live Connect has leapfrogged competition to deliver the best technician experience on the market today,” said Mike Puglia, Kaseya’s chief product officer.
“Competitive offerings don’t have the modern, clean intuitive interface of Live Connect,” he said. “But more importantly, they also don’t have the connect speed, the advanced real-time monitoring interface, the remote control capabilities and the inherent reliability of Live Connect for VSA 9.3.”
Live Connect allows for real-time, comprehensive visibility into every aspect of an endpoint, including CPU and disk utilization, application processes, services, activity metrics and service tickets, all while the end user continues to use the device normally.
The solution allows technicians to simultaneously monitor and toggle among multiple devices, and access a library of automated procedures for tasks like rebooting, disk cleanup, service restarts and cleaning registry problems.
Other features include Google’s Material Design concept, for a modern and intuitive interface to increase efficiency and reduce the time required for technical staff to become proficient.
In terms of security, users can conveniently select between prebuilt levels of security monitoring to ensure appropriate scanning and remediation of workstations or servers.
Customized automated policies employ Kaspersky Lab and Malwarebytes security technology, including behavioral based and network attack detection.
The tool contains a new peer-to-peer software deployment technology for distributing software, applications and updates.
Database performance, a re-factored server architecture and other performance engineering has resulted in benchmarked improved performance of up to 30 percent, the company said.
Extension and customization of the platform is facilitated by REST-based API protocols.

“Kaseya continues to develop its products based on the feedback from their user base and this latest version is another example,” he said. “The ‘rebirth’ of managed security management and the redesigned Live Connect are two powerful technical forces which will empower our engineers to not only be more efficient but also to provide first-class service delivery to our clients.”
Also today, Kaseya officials announced the release of AuthAnvil On-Demand, an Azure cloud-based Identity and Access Management tool designed to work seamlessly with various directory management technologies.
The IDaaS product employs multi-factor authentication, single sign-on and what is billed as the first-ever universal directory, enabling enterprise-class federated access to cloud applications, at any scale, even for networks that aren’t online.
In addition, the vendor announced the release of Kaseya Traverse, a unified systems and network management tool for use with private and hybrid clouds, virtualized infrastructure, and distributed network and datacenters infrastructure.
Formal announcement of the new products is scheduled for Thursday.
