LogMeIn Adds Remote Support for LG Smartphones
LogMeIn (LOGM) and LG are now working together to enable IT service technicians to remotely access and control Android-based LG smartphones and help users troubleshoot their devices. Here's everything you need to know.
Managed service providers (MSPs) can now leverage LogMeIn Rescue to offer remote support for customers’ Android-based LG smartphones.
LogMeIn and LG this week announced a partnership that enables IT service technicians to remotely access and control Android-based LG smartphones and help users troubleshoot their devices.
With LogMeIn Rescue, service technicians can see what is happening on a user’s LG smartphone at any time. LogMeIn said service technicians are now able to remotely access an LG device to change settings and configurations to fix a problem, show a user how to do something or install new apps.
“The ability to remotely control an LG phone is a huge time-saver for IT departments,” Michael Lombardo, vice president of sales and marketing for LG Electronics MobileComm USA, said in a prepared statement.
The LogMeIn Rescue app is available as a free download in the Google Play store. The ability to support LG phones is included in the current subscription cost for LogMeIn Rescue with mobile support capabilities, which starts at $1,749 per year.
In addition, LogMeIn said the LogMeIn Rescue app will work on smartphones operating Android version 4.0 and newer.
LogMeIn continues to update its Rescue app as well.
For example, the remote monitoring and management (RMM) provider in March unveiled Rescue Lens, a LogMeIn Rescue capability that enables service technicians to use a live camera feed from a mobile device to assist customers and employees.
