ManageEngine this week launched Network Defender Plus, network behavior anomaly detection (NBAD) software that is designed to secure enterprise data centers and networks against real-time attacks, at the it-sa IT Security Expo and Congress in Nuremberg, Germany.
The Pleasanton, California-based IT management software provider said Network Defender Plus analyzes various router and switch flows to identify and block unwanted traffic generated from cyber threats.
“With legacy apps such as mail, customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) moving to the cloud and being accessed via users’ mobile devices, you can’t lock down the network with exact IP addresses in the firewalls. As a result, admins keep the network open, and the firewalls become vulnerable to attacks,” Dev Anand, director of product management for ManageEngine’s data center and network management division, said in a prepared statement. “Network Defender Plus can help admins pinpoint those attacks.”
Network Defender Plus can protect businesses against zero-day and pattern-based intrusions such as bots, scans and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, ManageEngine said.
Businesses can use Network Defender Plus to:
Classify cyber threats
Identify anonymous traffic that is affecting a business network
Monitor internal and external cyber threats and network security in real-time
ManageEngine added Network Defender Plus applies patterns and rules to malicious traffic to identify attacks and intrusions.
Password Manager Pro can help with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 compliance
ManageEngine has updated its Password Manager Pro software, and organizations now can use this software to ensure that they comply with the requirements of information security standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
“Control A.9 of ISO/IEC 27001:2013 concerns controlling access to IT assets and applications and preventing unauthorized access. It’s the foundation of information security,” ManageEngine spokesperson Rajesh Ganesan said. “Organizations looking to obtain ISO 27001:2013 certification can use Password Manager Pro to generate an audit-ready, automated report pertaining to the controls under A.9.”
ManageEngine also has incorporated a session shadowing feature into Password Management Pro that allows IT administrators to monitor administrative access to highly sensitive IT resources and terminate suspicious activities.
IT admins can use this feature to offer assistance to users while monitoring their activities during troubleshooting sessions as well.
