The VAR Guy loves writing about technology, but sometimes there are simply too many stories to cover in a single week. Here are some of the articles this week we wish we had more time to talk about, but didn’t.

Orbcomm Announces 4G LTE Backup Solution for Enterprise: Machine-to-machine and Internet of Things solution provider Orbcomm (ORBC) launched Orbcomm Enterprise Connect, a wireless failover service to protect enterprise broadband-connected solutions. The service provides users with the ability to instantly switch to a persistent 4G LTE WAN connection so broadband-enabled devices can continue to function in case of a natural disaster, power failure or other system outage. Customers also have access to Orbcommconnect, the company’s subscriber management portal for remote device management and monitoring.

BrainSell Joins Bpm’online Partner Network: CRM and marketing automation solution provider Brainsell Technologies is the latest company to join the bpm’online channel partner network. Brainsell’s addition to the partner network is expected to help the company expand its product portfolio and offer bpm’online’s solutions to a wider swath of customers.

“After an exhaustive review of both the company and its products, we saw bpm’online and its solutions as a way we can help even more companies to respond to the challenges they face in a highly competitive business environment,” said Jim Ward, founder and CEO of BrainSell Technologies, in a statement.

Carbonite Announces Pro Solution for SMBs: Carbonite (CARB) announced the launch of Carbonite Pro, the company’s latest workstation backup solution, which allows admins to remotely deploy and manage backups using a centralized web dashboard. Three bundles for Carbonite Pro are available, including Pro Basic, Pro Prime and Server Pro Bundle.

“By placing the control in an administrator's hands, SMBs can decrease the risk of human error in setting up a backup solution and ensure mission-critical data is backed up as it's created," said David Raissipour, senior vice president of Engineering at Carbonite.

Microsoft Makes Windows 10-enabled Surface Tablets Available Through Dell: On the heels of launching the Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft (MSFT) announced that Dell will be the first partner company to sell Surface Pro devices with Windows 10.

Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface accessories are expected to be available through Dell’s North American commercial sales organization in October. Microsoft said it plans to expand the offering to more markets beginning in 2016, with additional partnership initiatives with Hewlett-Packard, Accenture and Avanade in the works.

Cisco Pulls Ahead of Microsoft in Collaboration Market: Cisco Systems (CSCO) has pulled ahead of Microsoft in the collaboration market during Q2 2015, according to new research from Synergy Research Group. Cisco managed to capture 15 percent of the $9 billion collaboration market due to the success of its premise-based solutions. However, Microsoft still leads in terms of hosted and cloud solution sales, due to increased market sales of 10 percent year on year.
