Greetings, and welcome to the latest episode of Distribution Watch, our weekly collection of doings in the disty space. This week we’ve got news from Comstor, Westcon Group and Jenne Inc., so settle down and let’s get started.

Comstor: The Cisco Systems-focused division of Westcon Group has tapped Cisco veteran Andreas Dohmen as executive vice president for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Previously Dohmen was vice president of Worldwide Business Operations and vice president of Commercial Business in Europe at Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), where he led operational and strategic sales, marketing and business development, business segmentation planning, and development and restructuring of organizations, according to the company.

Dohmen will report to Comstor President Jon Pritchard and is tasked with growing Comstor’s presence in the EMEA market, including nurturing existing relationships and creating new partner opportunities across the region.

Westcon Group: Speaking of Westcon, the distributor has rolled out its Westcon SMART Services Manager platform in Australia. The platform, powered by technology from MaintenanceNet, is a service contract management and automation platform designed to uncover new maintenance service opportunities and drive stronger recurring revenue growth.Westcon’s Australian resellers now have access to SMART Services Manager free of charge.

The platform includes MaintenanceNet’s Service360 service revenue automation solution, Auto Quote automated service quote solution and Quote to Order technology, which enables users to create sales quotes in real time.

“Using Westcon SMART Services Manager, our resellers are now able to uncover opportunities they may not have otherwisebeen aware of, and it streamlines sales processes and reduces the administrative time and costs associated with selling services,” said Tony Heywood, Director, Vendor Alliances, Westcon Group Australia. “It’s a competitive advantage and a valuable resource for our resellers in the market, and we’re seeing our maintenance sales rise as a result.”

Jenne Inc.: The unified communications and networking distributor has been recognized as a recipient of the Avaya Learning Partner’s (ALP) Recognition Program for the third quarter in a row. For Q2, Jenne was the sole recipient of Avaya Learning Partner awards for the U.S. region, capturing the “Highest Student Satisfaction” and “Highest Response Rate.”

To receive the “Highest Student Satisfaction Award,” Jenne attained the highest level of satisfaction among students. For the “Highest Response Rate Award,” Jenne received the highest survey participation among students during Q2 2012. ALP surveys are routinely used to rate quality of content, instructor, lab equipment and other important considerations.
