EMC knows information is knowledge and knowledge is power, and its latest channel program is designed to make EMC’s partners very powerful, indeed. Its IIG Partner Program gives EMC resellers access to the entire Information Intelligence (II) product portfolio, including the Enterprise Content Management solutions, Documentum xCP and Information Governance. Additionally, EMC is replacing its “Designed for EMC” program with a new “EMC Certified Solution” designation that lets system integrators and ISVs develop complete solutions and hosted services. Chris McLaughlin, EMC’s VP of Channels and Alliances for IIG, shed some light on why the changes were made:

“As companies move to the cloud and explore new ways to transform their business, ‘technology’ loses out to ‘solutions’ and ‘expertise,'” said McLaughlin. “This is why we’re so pleased to deliver our new partner program and set of initiatives, as we’re confident this new EMC partner ecosystem will enable customers to achieve high-impact results quicker than ever before.”

The EMC IIG Partner Program builds on the adjustments EMC made to its channel program in mid-April 2011 to grow its partners’ profits, and it’s one of several partner programs EMC is launching as part of a revamped channel strategy. EMC is also launching the EMC Information Intelligence Reseller Program to enable certified EMC Proven Professionals to resell IIG software and the EMC Information Intelligence Services Partner Program to let certified VARs add services to IIG solutions.

EMC partners who become  EMC Certified Solution partners will get enhanced training and professional certification from EMC and will be highlighted in the EMC Solution Catalog and Partner Solutions Gallery on EMC.com. Additionally, those partners will be eligible for incremental discounts on value-added EMC activities each time they sign new deals and have access to streamlined partner relationship management through EMC Partner Central.

EMC is hosting its IIG Partner Conference May 12, 2011, in Las Vegas, where the company will detail its new programs and how VARs can become certified and gain access to more EMC tools.
