Grandstream, which focuses on VoIP and SIP solutions for the SMB market, has launched a reseller program. True believers include 3CX, the international IP PBX provider and Microsoft partner. Here’s a quick look at Grandstream’s strategy.
Grandstream’s inaugural agent/reseller program for VoIP CPE (Consumer Premise Equipment) includes rebate incentives for VARs that work closely with Grandstream’s suppliers. Early adopters include 3CX, an international software-based IP PBX provider. 3CX and Grandstream are now testing their respective products for interoperability. It sounds like Grandstream’s endpoints (which include HD phones, IP multimedia phones, and SIP surveillance cameras) will ultimately be certified for use with 3CX’s IP PBX solutions.
Grandstream’s channel program arrives just as many VARs and MSPs take a second look at the VoIP market. A growing number of MSPs see IP phones as a stepping stone toward managed VoIP services. Not by coincidence most of the major MSP software providers — everyone from CA’s Nimsoft to N-able Technologies — have introduced remote monitoring software for VoIP systems.
Back at Grandstream the reseller program seems to be a work in progress. Check the Grandstream website and there’s very little information — at least so far — for resellers.
