ho-logo.gifSaaS productivity provider HyperOffice differentiates itself from competitors like Google Apps and Microsoft BPOS by wrapping up its core functions in a familiar desktop shell, accessed through the browser. And now HyperOffice is making a channel play with the launch of a formal reseller program. Here’s the scoop on HyperOffice’s channel value proposition.

According to HyperOffice EVP of Marketing and Product Management Shahab Kaviani, the solution’s real value to VARs involves account control. Unlike Microsoft — which owns the end-customer billing process during a SaaS engagement — HyperOffice lets partners handle billing. HyperOffice’s only role is to sell you the monthly licenses. That even extends to letting VARs offer HyperOffice under their own brand as a white-label service.

Technology-wise, Kaviani says their recently-redesigned suite has seen beefing-up in the area of project management, something which he says both Microsoft and Google’s cloud offerings are currently missing (and I’m sure fellow cloud provider Zoho would agree).

We’ll be curious to see if HyperOffice catches on with channel partners…
