If you’re a member of the Novell partner network, this might pique your interest. MindTouch has launched an Enterprise Wiki SUSE Linux Virtual Appliance with the intention of providing collaborative platforms to large-scale networks. MindTouch is actively looking to recruit partners — including partners that are familiar with Novell’s SUSE Linux appliance efforts. Here are the details.
MindTouch claims the wiki implementation provides an ease of use for system integrators, and since it’s a virtual appliance, it’s “ready to use” out of the box.
For the uninitiated, the enterprise wiki — which works similar to collaborative features of Wikipedia — provides a solid base for storing company information, knowledge bases, and providing an singular source for employees to access and work with large volumes of information. Enterprise-level wikis frequently include user-control restriction and more granular levels of access.
Care to learn more? Potential partners can check out the registration process here. There, apparently, are “attractive pricing” offers, but no dollar signs in sight.
MindTouch thinks the value and margin-potential for the enterprise wiki is high, since partners and resellers can add MindTouch to existing orders, while also building out the wiki into other systems and applications. MindTouch’s release calls it a “gateway drug” for resellers working with new customers, due to the expandability. MindTouch claims the enterprise wiki comes with IT governance and compliance tools, with all the sales, pricing and training a reseller needs to implement the virtual appliance.
