Imagine taking videoconferencing out of the boardroom and into the lunchroom. Or the employee lounge. Or just about anywhere else there’s a flat wall and a captive audience. Tandberg is making that idea a reality with its latest offering, the Telepresence T3 Custom Edition, a fully customizable solution that offers a level of flexibility traditional videoconferencing systems don’t offer. Here are the implications for VARs.

The T3 Custom Edition offers the same features as its counterparts the T1 and T3, including touch collaboration display and standards-compliant technology, without the furniture and lighting of the T3. Plus, the T3 Custom Edition doesn’t require a minimum number of seats like the T3 – and that’s good news for solution providers with customers who just don’t have the room or the capacity for a traditional videoconference room setup.

In creating a fully flexible solution, Tandberg is opening its doors to a whole new audience of users.

Solution providers, too, now have a new window of opportunity with the T3 Custom Edition. Tandberg points out nontraditional locations that might benefit from the flexibility of the T3 Custom Edition, including fashion houses, collaboration spaces of R&D firms and immersive education auditoriums of colleges and universities. Other locations might include remote health care facilities for collaborating with larger clinics and hospitals on patient care or government agencies such as sheriff’s offices for performing remote arraignments.

It’s an obvious point to make that the more flexible a solution, the more opportunities a solution provider has in finding customers. Tandberg – a channel-friendly company in its own right – is building an even deeper relationship with its partners by offering that flexibility.
