Fixed wireless broadband operator Accel Networks is expanding its partner program to include VARs, consultants and application providers in industries outside of telecom.
The Florida-based company said on Monday it wants to add partners from sectors where fixed wireless is the only logical choice for broadband connectivity. As such, Accel is targeting partners in the oil and gas, health care and financial services markets. For example, the company is eyeing network opportunities such as pipeline monitoring, electronic medical records, temporary tax preparation and brokerage services.
Accel already works with telecom master agents and subagents, as well as wholesalers, resellers and aggregators. But now it wants to widen its own focus and is looking to new types of partners to help it achieve that goal. Just as it does with existing partners, Accel will give new, non-telecom partners training, sales and marketing tools including limited exclusivity. However, it will require them to oversee the customized implementation specific to those vertical markets.
