Access One Launches Voice Compression-G.729
December 3, 2009
Access One Inc. (AOI) has announced the availability of voice compression using the ITU Standard G.729 compression scheme. This application offers AOI’s network-based Dyversaband customers enhanced bandwidth utilization for greater application throughput. An already established protocol, G.729 is a reliable voice standard that is quickly becoming the norm used in the telecommunications industry today, the company said.
Bandwidth compression allows for additional voice transactions to occur over the customer’s existing circuit. Under the previous protocol, G.711 customers were limited to a specific quantity of simultaneous calls which resulted in additional bandwidth investment to meet the business’ communications needs. This protocol compresses the amount of bandwidth used per call while maintaining voice quality and reallocating data capacity for multimedia applications.
Voice compression protocol G.729 is exclusively available in Chicago, IL LATA 358 on all signaling options offered on Dyversaband, Access One’s dynamically allocated integrated circuit.
