ANPI, LLC and Zone Telecom, LLC (ZONE) on Monday announced completing their previously announced merger.

ANPI and ZONE will operate as wholesale and retail business units of ANZ Communications LLC, a newly formed holding company.

Former ANPI Chief Executive Officer and President Dave Lewis will serve as CEO of ANZ Communications. Former ZONE CEO and President Dan Boynton will be ANZ’s president.

Springfield, Ill.-based ANZ combines ANPIs network assets and wholesale customer base with ZONEs multi-carrier traditional voice, VoIP and DIA data services for enterprise and wholesale customers. The merger also consolidates a network operations center in Frisco, Texas, with switching facilities and a multi-ring, SONET-based network spanning cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

The new company has regional operations, sales and support offices in Cherry Hill, N.J., Los Angeles and Mount Pleasant, Utah.

Under the merger, shareholders of ANPI and ZONE have contributed 100 percent of their ownership and assets in exchange for 50 percent stakes in ANZ Communications LLC.

ANPI provides wholesale voice and data solutions to telecommunications providers. The company also offers ISPs such value added services as computer protection, online data backup and spam.
