New Edge Networks announced that Broadsmart has joined its New Edge AX ecosystem of applications partners launched in mid-February.
8×8 Inc. and XCast Labs were the first VoIP providers to join.
New Edge Networks is partnering with VoIP providers, application service providers (ASPs), software as a service (SaaS) providers, credit card processors, physical security providers and other service providers to deliver this ecosystem of business applications over IP networks that support end-to-end traffic prioritization and predictable application performance.
Broadsmart has implemented a network-to-network interface to the New Edge AX platform, and is now seamlessly connected to the New Edge MPLS nationwide network. As a result, Broadsmart can provide its hosted VoIP customers with class of service (CoS) not afforded by the public Internet. Essentially, Broadsmart VoIP customers will now have end-to-end CoS from the VoIP phone to the IP switches.
New Edge and Broadsmart already have customers in common where they have worked together to deliver integrated telecommunications service. This announcement formalizes the relationship between the two companies. The New Edge AX agreement enables Broadsmart’s hosted VoIP services and New Edge’s MPLS network solutions to be cross-marketed to customers and future prospects.
Both New Edge and Broadsmart utilize third-party distribution channels, such as master agency X4 Communications to put together solutions for their customers.
